Once David’s work placement had ended at View Creative, and my work placements had ended at Cwmni Da, my tutor asked me to put together a video which would be shown to first year students to explain to them what it’s like getting a placement and how to go about it e.t.c.
We set about filming by sitting at my desk and speaking about our experiences, how easy it was to get the placements, what work we did e.t.c. Once we had finished filming David sent me imaged of his work that he had done at View Creative, and I set about looking for music to overlay within the video and began editing everything together.
Once I had finished editing everything together, David, myself and my tutor sat down to watch it. Moving to the Mac room and setting it up on a computer there allowed me to see the video with a fresh perspective. Watching it there allowed me to see various things that needed editing, such as the sound, the voices were too quiet and the music was too loud so that needed fixing. I also wanted to change the set up of the video, making it more formal. Rather than having David and myself sitting at my desk to have more examples of work. So I went back, David and I wrote out speeches that we were going to record and I would them simply place those audio clips into Premier and match up images with them.
So that’s exactly what I did! I ended up creating about 4 different versions of this video, and I’m really happy I did because it turned out a lot better! Below are some screen shots from the video.
